Prairie

“The exposed landscape demands a rapid expansion and leaves everyone vulnerable to raids from any directions.”
Map Scale Slightly Below Average 254 × 254 m

Prairie uses a 128-axis source size, corresponding to 254 × 254 m at standard 1v1 scale.

Food Deep exposed land Food Food: Deep exposed land Food; editorial rating 5 of 5

Zebra-or-gazelle, giraffe, heavy-hunt branches, berries, goats, hyenas, and lions support a deep but raidable economy.

Wood Five starting forest requests Wood: Five starting forest requests; editorial rating 4 of 5

Five small starting palm forests per player and forty-four global forest requests in standard 1v1 keep Wood available across open terrain.

Gold 57k–69k requested Gold: 57k–69k requested; editorial rating 5 of 5

A medium and small opening mine per player plus variable semi-mirrored outer mines create a source-derived range.

Overview

Prairie is genuinely exposed: it uses open desert terrain, locally raised base and settlement ground, scattered palm forests, and no scripted water economy. Its fast expansion character comes from the resource spread, not from a central terrain objective; raiding angles remain broad throughout the map.

02 Resources

Food

The opening is either zebra plus gazelle or giraffe, with 4–6 chickens, 6–7 berries, and two to three goats. Close hunt at 55–75 m is zebra or gazelle; far hunt at 75–100 m is giraffe; the next layer at 80–120 m is elephants, rhinoceroses, or hippopotamuses; and a final zebra-or-gazelle group begins from 90 m. Close and far berries, more goats, hyenas, and lions keep Food deep but exposed. These are requested packages, not guaranteed final totals.

03 Resources

Wood & Routes

Five 17–25-tile palm forests are requested near each player, followed by forty-four global forest requests in standard 1v1. Their small, scattered footprint supports workable Wood access without creating a reliable wall or choke. The source does not support a fixed Wood total.

04 Resources

Gold Mines

Prairie requests two 3,000-Gold medium starts, two 1,500-Gold small starts, two 6,000-Gold close mines at 55–70 m, and six-to-eight 6,000-Gold bonus mines from 70 m: 57,000–69,000 Gold requested, with 63,000 as the branch expectation. Bonus Gold is semi-mirrored with deliberately wider angular than radial variation, while settlements and the first Gold layer share a randomized side relationship.

05 Objectives

Settlements & Relics

Each player receives a backward settlement request at 65–80 m and an aggressive request at 85–120 m. The second layer does not inherit the first layer’s shared-side setting, so expansion directions should be scouted rather than assumed. Two relics per player begin at least 80 m out, clear of settlements and tower vision.

Sources & methodology

This overview reads the PB2 Final Release Prairie XS/XML and one user-confirmed Final Release Scenario Editor overhead. It reports the source-defined Gold branch and exposed land economy; requested placements can fail and the overhead is one seed.
