Overview
Frozen Wastes is a large square continent surrounded by frozen sea. It is not a naval or fishing map in this source: the strategic terrain is the landmass, with shore buffers shaping how far objectives and resources can safely sit from the edge.
Gold is a long-game map-control resource here. The standard 1v1 script requests five large mines per player beyond the opening, while settlements and relics must also remain on the continent.
Food
Each player gets 5–6 starting caribou, 5–7 chickens, 5–6 berries, and two to three goats or cows. A 5–6 elk-or-caribou close hunt sits 50–80 m out, while a 5–6 walrus group and two further variable hunt groups pull control progressively farther across the continent. Close and far berries, herdables, and either arctic wolves or polar bears add later Food. The script records package ranges but its placement rules do not prove a universal completed Food total.
Wood
Three 80–88-tile forest areas are requested near each start, and eight more global forest areas are requested across the team continent. Forests avoid water, impassable land, settlements, Town Centers, and shore buffers. The source establishes dense, continent-bound Wood without converting terrain area into an invented Wood total.
Gold Mines
A complete standard 1v1 request is 66,000 Gold: one 3,000-Gold medium mine per player and five 6,000-Gold large mines per player. Large mines are requested at least 45 m from player locations, on continent land and within 15 m of its shore edge, while avoiding tower vision, settlement space, corners, water, and other Gold. These strong shoreward constraints can cause an individual request to fail.
Settlements & Relics
Two settlement layers are requested at 60–75 m and 75–100 m per player, with a third larger-map layer because this map exceeds standard size. All avoid the shore by 20–30 m and keep clear of Gold. Relics are requested two per player from 75 m outward on continent land and at least 5 m from the shore.
This overview reads the PB2 Final Release Frozen Wastes XS/XML and one user-confirmed Final Release Scenario Editor overhead. It supports the continent, shore-buffer, and requested resource facts; it does not infer fishing from surrounding ice or turn requested placements into guarantees.
