Frozen Continent

“A frozen continent rises from icy waters, dotted with scattered fish. Relics sleep beneath the frost, waiting to be claimed.”
Map Scale Above Average 318 × 318 m

Frozen Continent uses a 160-axis source size, corresponding to 318 × 318 m; its 46% continent and outer icy water make usable land more concentrated than the footprint.

Overview

Frozen Continent is a large snow continent separated from the map edge by icy water, perimeter ponds, and scattered ice cliffs. It is a different PB2 identity from Frozen Wastes: its source explicitly builds a 46% Japanese-snow continent, then draws fish, relics, and late economy into the land around its pond ring.

The centre is not the whole map. Shore buffers, ponds, and continent-only placement rules make the outer continental band the crucial territory for fish access, relics, and late resources.
02 Resources

Food & Fishing

Each player starts with 5–6 serow, 5–6 berries, 5–6 chickens, and two to three cows. Close hunt at 60–80 m is serow or snow monkeys; later packages branch between aurochs and boar, then elk, snow monkeys, or serow. Far berries, close and bonus cows, pond-adjacent cows, and arctic predators complete the requested continental land economy. Constrained requests can fail.

In standard 1v1 the source requests eight ponds per player and places two salmon at each successfully created pond, making 32 requested salmon. They are a renewable fishing layer, not a numeric finite-Food total.

03 Resources

Wood & Routes

Three 65–70-tile Buddhist-pine forest areas are requested near each player, then six later forest areas are built in team areas. Forests must remain on the continent and clear of shoreline buffers, so their geography matters more than the raw area requests; no fixed Wood total is claimed.

04 Resources

Gold Mines

A complete standard 1v1 request is 54,000 Gold: one 3,000-Gold medium mine per player, two 6,000-Gold close mines per player at 50–80 m, and two 6,000-Gold bonus mines per player from 60 m outward. The large mines must stay on continent land and outside shore buffers while avoiding settlements, tower vision, water, and other Gold.

05 Objectives

Settlements & Relics

Settlements are requested backward at 65–80 m and aggressively at 65–90 m, both on continent land and at least 13 m from its shore. Three relics per player are requested from 80 m outward, near the pond network but clear of shoreline buffers. The requested pattern makes those outer land routes consequential without promising every individual placement.

This overview reads the PB2 Final Release Frozen Continent XS/XML and one user-confirmed Final Release Scenario Editor overhead. It treats Frozen Continent and Frozen Wastes as separate PB2 identities, separates renewable salmon from finite land Food, and reports requested placements rather than guarantees.
