Elysium Recalibrated

“An abundance of animals live in this lush and calm paradise. Small forests surround the ponds that hold the riches of this mythological world.”
Map Scale Slightly Below Average 266 × 266 m

Elysium Recalibrated covers 70,756 m². It is 12 m wider and about 9.7% larger in area than the 254 × 254 m Standard Maps version.

Food Abundant & Exposed Food: Abundant & Exposed; editorial rating 5 of 5

22.65k–32.1k initial finite Food, with 27.375k expected. Opening hunt, berries, chickens, pigs, two close hunts, and three outer hunts remain spread across open land.

Wood Pond-Centered & Variable Wood: Pond-Centered & Variable; editorial rating 4 of 5

Each gold pond receives three or four 40–50-tile forest areas. Two large and one small starting forest per player add safer access; exact Wood varies with forest shape and density.

Gold Fixed & Coordinated Gold: Fixed & Coordinated; editorial rating 3 of 5

The map contains 54,000 Gold: one 3k opening mine, one 6k close mine, and three 6k outer mines per player. The later pond economies share one broad side.

Overview

Elysium Recalibrated is a larger lush land map built around eight exposed pond economies. Every later Gold location can create a shallow pond, a small raised mine site, and a surrounding ring of forest. The open ground between those pockets keeps food, expansions, relics, and long-term Gold visible and worth scouting.

The tournament version gives the map a stronger shared direction. Settlements, all later Gold, the close hunt, the deer and crane outer hunts, and the pond forests are coordinated onto the same broad side. Gazelle outer hunt remains independently placed, so familiar Elysium variety still matters.

Treat the pond side as the main long-term contest: it combines Gold and Wood, while the open routes leading to it keep the abundant hunt from becoming safely isolated.
02 Layout

Ponds & Forest Rings

Standard-size 1v1 has eight later large mines, each with an 18–20 m shallow pond. Each pond can receive three or four 40–50-tile forest areas at 15–20 m from its mine. The map has one seed-varying structure rather than named layouts: the eight pockets move, but their relationship between later Gold and Wood remains the defining feature.

The two defensive settlements sit 60–80 m from their players, and the aggressive pair sits 80–120 m away. Both pairs avoid tower safety, corners, and the central quarter, with wider separation than Standard Elysium.

03 Resources

Food

Initial finite Food ranges from 22,650 to 32,100, with 27,375 expected. There are no fish or predators. Pigs are counted at their generated 50 Food each: the 14–28 pigs total 700–1,400 initially, or 4,200–8,400 when fully fattened.

PackageMap totalGeography
Opening14–16 deer or gazelle; 8–12 berries; 8–12 chickens; 4–8 pigsHunt in tower safety; support resources around each start
Close hunt28–40 deer or gazelleTwo groups per player, 60 m or farther, on the common side
Outer hunt14–20 gazelle, 14–20 deer, 14–20 crowned cranes75 m, 77 m, and 80 m or farther; deer and cranes share the common side
Outer berries and pigs28–40 berries; 10–20 more pigsBerries begin at 70 m; pigs range from 50 m outward

The close groups stay outside tower and settlement safety. Outer food begins at 75 m or farther and individual positions retain wider inward, outward, and around-the-reference variation than the Standard map. That gives the shared map direction a less rigid local shape.

04 Resources

Wood

Wood is area-based rather than a fixed total. The eight pond economies produce 24–32 small forest areas, while each player receives two 95–100-tile starting forests and one 47.5-tile starting forest. Starting forests avoid ponds and their forest rings; stragglers plus palms, olives, and oaks supplement them.

A reviewed Gameathlon generation contained 179,810 Wood. That is a useful example of the tournament map, not a guaranteed total.

05 Resources

Gold Mines

The full layout contains exactly 54,000 Gold. Each player has one 3,000-Gold opening mine, one 6,000-Gold defensive mine at 65–70 m, one 6,000-Gold aggressive mine from 67 m onward, one 6,000-Gold mine at 75–120 m, and one 6,000-Gold mine from 75 m onward.

All eight later Gold locations can create the pond-and-forest pockets. They avoid tower safety, settlement farming space, map edges, and the center, while the three later packages follow the shared side. The reviewed generation contained the complete 54,000 Gold.

06 Objectives

Settlements & Map Control

Each player has two expansion settlements. The first is 60–80 m away and defensive; the second is 80–120 m away and aggressive. Both pairs follow the common side, stay out of tower safety, and avoid the central quarter, making the expansion route part of the same broad contest as later Gold and much of the Wood.

07 Objectives

Relics

Four relics appear, two per player. They begin at least 80 m from their associated and every other start, stay out of tower and settlement safety, avoid water and map edges, and use 80 m separation.

08 Comparison

How this differs from the Standard Maps version

Elysium Recalibrated is 266 × 266 m instead of 254 × 254 m, increasing area from 64,516 to 70,756 m². The tournament map also aligns its expansion settlements, all later Gold, selected hunt packages, and pond forests onto one broad side, while Standard Elysium places those major systems more independently.

The tournament pond rings use three or four small forests per later Gold location rather than four fixed forest areas, and the starting wood becomes two larger forests plus one small forest per player rather than three 50–75-tile forests. The Food envelope, 54,000 Gold, four relics, pigs, and absence of fishing or predators remain materially unchanged. Wider local placement variation keeps individual resource positions and routes less rigid even though the major tournament systems share one broad side. The lighting changes are cosmetic.

Sources & methodology

This overview compares the current Gameathlon Athens 1.3 Elysium rules directly with the current Standard Elysium rules, then checks the tournament economy against one confirmed Standard-size 1v1 Scenario Editor generation and its overhead. The comparison supports the stated dimensions, counts, distances, common-side behavior, and terrain relationships. It cannot prove that every attempted area or object completes, and one overhead cannot establish universal positions. The reviewed generation recorded 26,100 Food, 179,810 Wood, and 54,000 Gold; Food falls inside the calculated 22,650–32,100 range, Gold matches the fixed request, and Wood remains one observation. Describing the pond side as the main long-term contest is Prostagma's interpretation of documented resource geography, not a statement of designer intent.
