“Though the starting location is safe, players will soon need to venture outside their shelters in search of resources.”
Map Scale Above Average 278 × 278 m

Hideout uses a 140-axis source size, corresponding to 278 × 278 m at standard 1v1 scale.

Food Sheltered opening, outer hunt Food: Sheltered opening, outer hunt; editorial rating 4 of 5

The opening is protected, but deer, boar-or-aurochs, berries, herdables, wolves, and bears draw play outside.

Wood Central and outer forest Wood: Central and outer forest; editorial rating 4 of 5

A central forested zone and seven large forest requests per team-area make Wood plentiful without fixing a total.

Gold 54k requested Gold: 54k requested; editorial rating 4 of 5

Two medium opening mines and eight large outer mines make the Gold economy a clean source-derived total.

Overview

Hideout gives each player a sheltered opening, then makes the outside economy matter. The central forested zone and start-to-centre connections make an enclosure-like start visible in the terrain, but the source does not create a player wall; Gold, Food, settlements, and relics are all requested beyond the shelter.

02 Resources

Food

Each player starts with 5–6 deer, 5–7 chickens, 5–6 berries, and two to three goats or pigs. A close deer or deer-and-boar package sits at 60–80 m; a boar-or-aurochs group follows at 75–100 m, another branch at 80–120 m, and 6–7 deer at 90 m or farther. Far berries, close and outer herdables, wolves, and bears are also requested outside the protected start.

03 Resources

Wood & Routes

The central zone is filled with forest while paths connect player areas outward. Seven 55–70-tile forests are then requested in each team area, kept away from start and centre buffers. This supports a strong Wood rating without pretending that terrain-area requests convert to a fixed Wood total.

04 Resources

Gold Mines

Hideout requests 54,000 Gold in a complete standard 1v1 layout: one 3,000-Gold medium mine per player and four 6,000-Gold outer mines per player. The large mines begin at 65 m, avoid water, settlement space, tower vision, corners, and the central forest’s 20 m buffer.

05 Objectives

Settlements & Relics

The first settlement is requested backward at 75–85 m, with the second aggressive at 90–135 m. Both avoid forest space. Two relics per player begin at least 80 m out and also avoid the central forest, reinforcing the move from safety toward contested exterior ground.

Sources & methodology

This overview reads the PB2 Final Release Hideout XS/XML and one user-confirmed Final Release Scenario Editor overhead. It distinguishes the source’s protected player-area and path structure from an unsupported claim of built starting walls; constrained placements are not guarantees.
